Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking an MRI CT Tech Assistant to join their team. You will support technologists and departmental staff in MRI and CT services, always under the direct supervision of a certified technologist and will assist and support the provision of MRI and CT services to our patients.

This full-time role will work 40 hours per week, varying daylight and evening shifts and will include rotating Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• At least one year of healthcare experience.
• Medical terminology and recent medical/imaging office experience preferred.
• IV insertion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients as they arrive and assists with paperwork and scheduling questions.
• Escorts patients to dressing areas and assists as needed.
• Verifies MRI screening and enters information for the technologist review.
• Assists with lifting/transferring patients and positioning for imaging.
• Provides IV access support and assists in contrast administration preparation under supervision.
• Performs QC-related tasks and helps maintain equipment and room readiness.
• Transports patients as needed and ensures proper discharge instructions under guidance.
