Job summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated support staff member to assist with MRI and CT services in the evening shift. Under supervision of a certified technologist, you will help with patient intake, screening, and room preparation.

You will also assist with IV access, contrast preparation, and positioning for imaging. Responsibilities include patient monitoring during exams, discharge instruction delivery, equipment reporting, and room turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge; imaging office experience preferred.
• IV insertion experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required per AHA standards.
• Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI clearance with renewal.

Responsibilities

• Meet patients on arrival and assist with documentation and scheduling questions.
• Escort patients, assist with transfers, and support MRI safety screening.
• Assist with IV access and contrast preparation under supervision.
• Position patients and align MRI coil or CT table for imaging.
• Monitor patients during exams and provide discharge instructions as directed.
• Report equipment issues and help with QC tasks.
• Transport patients and prepare exam rooms.
