Job summary

Avera St Mary’s Hospital is seeking a Radiology Imaging Specialist to perform radiographic, CT, mammography, and MRI procedures with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. The role involves coordinating with radiologists and ensuring proper data handling in PACS/RIS/HIS/EMR systems.

You will support ongoing quality improvements, mentor staff, and uphold safety and regulatory standards within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Associate's or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology.
• ARRT certification in Radiography with two or more additional radiology certifications upon hire.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) with two or more additional radiology certifications upon hire.
• Ability to operate radiography, CT, Mammography and/or MRI equipment following established protocols.
• Strong attention to image quality and effective communication with radiologists and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic, CT, Mammography and/or MRI imaging procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Initiates intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam requires immediate attention.
• Reviews indications for exams and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.
• Provides complete exam data for interpretation and assists physicians in performing diagnostic exams.
• Uses PACS/RIS/HIS/EMR systems and archives image data for permanent storage; sends images to radiologist group.
