Job summary

UPMC in Fairview Township, PA seeks an MRI/CT Tech Assistant to support patient flow and imaging staff. This full-time role covers the 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. shift with weekend/holiday rotation under the supervision of certified technologists.

You will greet patients, assist with paperwork, prepare imaging rooms, help with transfers, and participate in basic QC tasks under department guidelines. The position emphasizes patient safety and reliable teamwork within the MRI and CT services.

Responsibilities

• Meets patients as they arrive to department and assists with paperwork & documentation
• Escorts patients to dressing areas and assists as needed
• Assists with MRI screening to ensure safe scanning and provides forms to technologist
• Assists with lifting and transferring patients to and from exam tables
• Establishes IV access according to established procedures
• Prepares oral contrast for patients and provides patient instructions under technologist guidance
• Pads, positions, centers and aligns the patient and MRI coil or CT table for proper imaging
• Provides telemetry monitoring during exam if applicable and reports equipment malfunctions
