Job summary

OrthoNY in Malta, NY is seeking an MRI Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports MRI Technologists with patient preparation, safety screening, and workflow coordination while helping maintain a safe, patient-centered imaging environment.

You will assist with patient transport, positioning, and comfort, contributing to efficient examinations and an entry point into radiologic technology education and certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain certification within timeframe.
• Previous healthcare or patient-care support experience.
• Experience in outpatient imaging centers or hospital settings preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide clear information about the MRI process.
• Assist patients with changing clothing and removing metal items.
• Transport patients to and from the MRI department and assist with transfers.
• Position patients and support MRI Technologists with imaging preparations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI environment.
• Support room turnover, equipment readiness, and supply management.
• Enter or update patient information in scheduling/EMR systems.
