Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an MRI Assistant to support the imaging team by greeting and transporting patients, assisting with positioning, room preparation and screening for MRI procedures.

The role includes clerical duties, using Epic and PACS, maintaining privacy, and contributing to daily department operations and quality patient care. Scheduling is PRN/variable as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA preferred or actively enrolled in Radiologic Technology program.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets, escorts and transports patients to MRI areas.
• Assists with patient positioning and IV removal.
• Performs clerical tasks using Epic and PACS; maintains patient privacy.
• Answer phones and relay messages; support department operations.
• Complies with HIPAA and facility privacy policies.

OVERVIEWThe MRI Assistant supports the imaging team by greeting, transporting, and preparing patients for MRI procedures, assisting with positioning, IV removal, screening, and room preparation. Can assist in preparing patients for MRI by removing and attaching MRI ECG leads.Ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language.Understanding knowledge of MRI Safety with Annual Competency.Special Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
