Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Spotter in Irwindale, CA. The role focuses on keeping traffic flowing safely in the unloading area, inspecting loads for hazardous or unauthorized waste, and coordinating with truck drivers and team members to maintain an orderly, safe work environment.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of general labor or construction experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a general laborer or in a construction environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect loads for unauthorized material at the unloading area.
• Enforce safety rules and procedures at the MRF.
• Direct traffic and spot trucks in the tipping area.
• Operate equipment to support inspection and sorting tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents to supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and daily log reports for reporting and invoicing.
