Job summary

MarBorg Recovery in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operation of equipment inside the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). You will perform preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshoot engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, and production machines.

The plant mechanic must follow diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications to ensure reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and control systems; multi-area competency.
• Ability to work on conveyors and motors that drive belts.
• Experience with preventive maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Ability to read sketches, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Willingness to work with various hand tools to complete repairs.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance inspections; diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment.
• Make necessary repairs to plant production equipment and support equipment.
• Maintain inventory control of maintenance parts and coordinate with vendors.
• Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and electrical schematics for repairs.
• Generate work orders and evaluate repair work upon completion.
