Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a Line Sorter to sort recyclable materials at our MRF/Optical Sorting Facility. The role involves standing on conveyors, identifying items, and supporting cleanliness and safety on the line.

You will work outdoors in varying temperatures, with a focus on accurate sorting and teamwork to eliminate wrongly recycled products from the waste stream. Prior sanitation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must meet physical standards and be 18+ years old.
• Experience in sanitation industry is preferred.
• Work in close quarters with others as a team.
• Ability to handle hot/cold outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Sort recyclables on a moving conveyor belt.
• Stand for four hours at a time as required by shift.
• Sweep during cleanup times and keep area tidy.
• Perform light shoveling as needed.
• Occasional lifting under 50 lbs.
• Use hand tools like pliers for cleaning baled products.
