Job summary

SOGECLAIR seeks an experienced engineer for its Wichita, Kansas, MRB team. The role focuses on dispositioning repair schemes for primary structure, interfacing with Quality and Engineering to ensure conformance to specs, and supporting production activities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace MRB, experience with Boeing models, and a capacity to obtain MRB delegation after training. Catia V5 proficiency is preferred, along with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of MRB experience with primary structure repairs.
  • Experience with Boeing aircraft models; 737/787/777 is a plus.
  • Desire to obtain MRB delegation after training.
  • Strong understanding of metallic and composite structures in aerospace.
  • Experience dispositioning non-conformances in aerospace.
  • Team player with collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Wichita.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering documents and conduct technical investigations.
  • Analyze situations and develop cost-effective dispositions/repairs promptly.
  • Solve NCR-related technical issues with Quality Agents.
  • Ensure repair schemes conform to engineering requirements.
  • Support daily production and delivery activities.
  • Participate in productivity and waste-reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Stress, Thermodynamics, Materials & Processes, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems, Logistics, Methods, Quality and Operations.
  • Assist in training junior Liaison Engineering personnel.

Job description

TASKS YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH
  • Interpret engineering documents and conduct technical investigations.
  • Analyze each situation and develop the most cost-effective solution (disposition/repair) in a timely manner.
  • Understand and solve problems related to structure and provide technical support in answering Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) raised by Quality Agents.
  • Ensure the conformity of repair schemes and dispositions with engineering requirements and specifications.
  • Support daily production and delivery activities.
  • Participate in projects that will increase our productivity, reduce waste and improve our financial performance.
  • Work closely with other teams such as Systems, Stress, Thermodynamic, Material & Processes, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems, Logistics, Methods, Quality and Operations to achieve the organization’s business objectives.
  • Assist in training of junior Liaison Engineering personnel if required.
YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) environment with primary structure repairs.
  • Experience with Boeing aircraft models; if you have worked on the 737, 787, or 777 models (an asset).
  • A desire and/or capability to obtain Engineering MRB delegation after a period of on-the-job training.
  • A deep understanding with metallic and composite aircraft structures.
  • Experience dispositioning non-conformances in aerospace.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Flexible and comfortable working under pressure with a minimum of supervision.
  • Sound technical judgement and a practical approach.
  • Catia V5 experience.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Wichita (mandatory).
  • Must have U.S. citizenship (mandatory).
