The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco, is expanding its research programs and invites applications for the position of MR Imaging Scientist. The appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will depend on the candidate's qualifications and interests, within the In-Residence or Adjunct series.
Faculty members are expected to develop an independent research program of excellence and demonstrate success as an independent investigator with a strong background in MR physics, pulse sequence development, and image reconstruction. Experience in pulse sequence programming on multi-vendor platforms, such as Siemens and GE scanners, is essential. Responsibilities also include collaborating with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning, conducting, and evaluating data, as well as teaching residents, fellows, medical students, and master's students.
Candidates must hold a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related fields, with postgraduate or postdoctoral research experience, ideally totaling at least two years. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay based on rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $127,000 - $333,700. This position also includes membership in the UC Retirement Plan, providing eligibility for additional compensation.
