Job summary

Glovis America Inc. is seeking a MQ Yard Operations Senior Analyst to coordinate yard activities, ensure YMS data integrity, and monitor trailer and equipment utilization to support inbound logistics.

The role requires strong data analysis, system management, and cross-functional communication, with the position domiciled in Otay Mesa Yard. Responsibilities include overseeing yard visibility, asset tracking, and performance analysis, preparing reports, and supporting continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with warehouse, transportation, carrier, and operations teams for accurate updates.

Summary

The MQ Yard Operations Senior Analyst is responsible for coordinating yard operations activities, maintaining Yard Management System (YMS) data integrity, and monitoring trailer and equipment utilization to support efficient inbound logistics operations. The role oversees yard visibility, asset tracking, utilization reporting, and operational performance analysis while ensuring accurate transportation and yard management data. Success in this role requires knowledge of yard operations, transportation processes, data analysis, system management, and cross-functional communication.

***Position will be domiciled in Otay Mesa Yard***

Compensation

$55,000- $70,000 yearly salary range. (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily yard operations activities to support the efficient movement, staging, and utilization of trailers, containers, and transportation assets.
• Maintain and validate Yard Management System (YMS) data to ensure accurate inventory, trailer location, equipment status, and yard visibility.
• Monitor inbound and outbound trailer activity to support transportation scheduling and operational requirements.
• Review yard capacity and asset utilization levels to optimize equipment availability and minimize operational bottlenecks.
• Analyze YMS transactions, yard activity data, and operational metrics to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain U.S. yard management and utilization reports to support operational reviews and management decision-making.
• Track trailer dwell times, equipment usage, and yard performance indicators to improve asset utilization and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with warehouse, transportation, carrier, and operations teams to ensure accurate trailer status updates and timely yard movements.
• Investigate yard-related discrepancies, inventory variances, and asset tracking issues and support timely resolution activities.
• Maintain operational records, reporting databases, and documentation related to yard management activities.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards governing yard operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through analysis of yard performance trends and utilization data.
• Prepare ad hoc operational reports and data analyses to support business requirements.
• Assist with system testing, process updates, and YMS enhancement initiatives.
• Support asset audits and yard inventory verification activities.
• Participate in transportation and logistics projects impacting yard operations and asset management.
• Provide training and guidance on YMS utilization and reporting processes as needed.

Education & Experience

• 2-5 Years of Logistics operations, Transportation coordination, Supply chain operations, Data analysis and reporting required
• 3-7 Years of Yard management operations, Yard Management System (YMS) administration, Asset utilization analysis, Warehouse and transportation integration, Automotive or manufacturing logistics
