Job summary

AVIAN, Inc. seeks an MQ-9 Reaper Air Vehicle Pilot to join UX-24 at Patuxent River, MD. This role focuses on piloting MQ-9 for developmental tests and coordinating a diverse team of aircrew and flight test engineers to deliver high-quality results for warfighters.

Qualifications

• Qualified MQ-9 Pilot with SLR experience.
• 1000+ documented flight hours (manned/unmanned).
• Minimum 500 hours PIC in medium/high altitude UAS.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• FAA Second Class Medical.
• Must obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of MQ-9 aircraft for launch and recovery.
• Coordinate and participate in UAS ground and flight operations: mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, safety.
• Define, plan, organize, and execute flight plans and schedules; review logs and forecasts.
• Use Technical Orders and reports to assess weight, fuel, route, and reliability.
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites as needed.
• Most work onsite at NAS Patuxent River, MD; some domestic travel for test activities.
