Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Pilot - Unmanned Air Vehicle based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. This onsite role covers development and operational flight efforts for the MQ-4C Triton ITS, with occasional travel to Palmdale, CA.

You will lead complex flight tests, coordinate with maintenance, and train as NATOPS instructor, supporting national security missions and advanced unmanned systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience or advanced degrees with related experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance (or eligibility) and ability to obtain SAP clearance.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating; 500+ PIC hours on manned aircraft.
• At least 250 UAV/UAS hours PIC or 150 MQ-4 PIC hours.
• Current Class II FAA medical certificate.

Responsibilities

• Remotely pilot Triton UAV to verify specs and support flight tests.
• Plan, execute complex flight profiles and events for program milestones.
• Coordinate with maintenance to analyze and fix vehicle discrepancies.
• Serve as NATOPS Instructor or Examiner as required.
