General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA, is seeking a staff-level engineer for the CLS Project Engineering team.

You will perform impact assessments for DMSMS/obsolescence issues, present findings at internal and customer meetings, and plan engineering projects to meet goals. The role involves leading design/modifications, providing reach-back support for servos, engine tear downs, and battery repairs, with potential travel to USAF locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering or related discipline with progressive experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts and broad application.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Professional Engineering license and publications desirable.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Capable of leading a team on single component projects.

Responsabilités

• Focus on systems affected by DMSMS issues and develop solutions before production impact.
• Support operation of engineering systems and document problems.
• Develop new approaches to resolve unusual engineering problems.
• Troubleshoot complex design/development requirements and special material needs.
• Provide documentation and technical presentations as required.
• May act as prime technical contact on small contracts or projects.
• Lead design/technical staff and potentially a moderately experienced team.
• Advise Program Management on implications of design changes.
• Develop or maturate engineering processes and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
