All Aviation Jobs seeks a qualified MQ-9 Launch and Recovery Pilot to support deployed aviation operations. The role requires PIC duties for MQ-9 launches, coordination of ground and flight ops, mission planning, and safety leadership.

Candidates must hold AF Form 8, be LRE qualified, and meet heavy flight-hour and deployment requirements; U.S. passport and DoD clearance are mandatory, with flexibility for CONUS/OCONUS travel.

Qualifications

  • MQ-9 Pilot with AF Form 8, LRE Qualified.
  • 550 MQ-9 flight hours.
  • Last flight within 12 months.
  • Must possess/be able to obtain FAA Class II physical.
  • Must possess/be able to obtain a US passport.
  • Deploy for at least six (6) months each year.
  • Maintaining a DoD Security Clearance is required.
  • Prior DoD pilot training, specifically the USAF’s Undergraduate Pilot Training, or USA, USN, USMC, or USCG equivalent fixed wing training program.
  • Or Initial Formal Training Upgrade (IFTU) training in the MQ-9 via the 18X pipeline or the following FAA certificate/rating: Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Category Rating and Instrument-Airplane Rating

Responsibilities

  • Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of MQ-9 aircraft for launch and recovery efforts.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in RPA ground and flight operations efforts; including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety.
  • Define, plan, organize, and execute flight plans and schedules. Review maintenance logs, weather reports, and forecasts.
  • Use Technical Orders, other documents, and reports to ascertain factors; such as aircraft weight and balance, fuel supply, route, schedule, and mechanical reliability.
  • Available to conduct 24/7 operations without scheduling restrictions
  • Maintain ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites.

  • 1,000 MQ-9 flight hours

Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and carry without assistance
  • OCONUS travel will be required
