Motion Recruitment Partners in Sandusky, MI is seeking an experienced MPS Planner to join a full-time role focused on Master Production Scheduling, supply chain planning, and materials management.

You will work with operations, procurement, and supplier partners to optimize inventory, improve on-time delivery, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or APICS certification, or an equivalent combo.
• 5+ years planning and/or purchasing in manufacturing.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MRP, JIT and Kanban.
• Lean manufacturing principles understanding.
• Experience supporting production planning and materials management.
• Cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Plan, release, and reschedule supply orders to align demand, capacity, and material availability.
• Own material planning for products and components.
• Execute supply planning and procurement to support production.
• Maintain ERP master data and planning attributes.
• Improve on-time delivery and inventory health through proactive planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve shortages and disruptions.
• Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze planning metrics and inventory trends to improve performance.

Daily Responsibilities

• Plan, release, and reschedule supply orders to align demand, capacity, and material availability
• Manage customer order commitments, order acknowledgments, delivery dates, and expedite requests
• Own material planning activities for assigned products and purchased components
• Execute supply planning and procurement strategies to support production requirements
• Maintain planning attributes and master data within ERP systems
• Coordinate return-to-vendor activities as needed
• Improve on-time delivery, inventory health, and lead-time performance through proactive planning
• Work closely with suppliers to resolve shortages and supply-chain disruptions
• Partner with procurement, manufacturing, scheduling, and operations teams to support production goals
• Support cost reduction, sourcing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze planning metrics and inventory trends to improve operational performance
