Job summary

Alcuin School seeks MPC Assistants to supervise and nurture children in aftercare, ensuring safety and well-being in a Montessori-inspired setting.

You will assist with snack preparation, support weekly lesson planning, and communicate daily activities and concerns with the MPC/ASE Supervisor or Director of Primary Program. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and engaging, empathetic interactions with children.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience taking care of children.
• CPR and first-aid training.
• Montessori experience preferred or AMI orientation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and nurture children indoors and outdoors.
• Prepare snacks for children and involve them when possible.
• Create and implement weekly age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Monitor safety and report concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain clean, sanitary classroom and equipment; ensure spaces are well-organized.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARYMPC Assistants are responsible for supervising and nurturing while ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.JOB SCOPEPrepares and maintains a safe and nurturing environment aligned with the Montessori principles. Communicates with the MPC/ASE Supervisor about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
