Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialist

Estimated Pay: $41- $57/Hour
We are hiring an Experienced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Engineer in Tukwila, WA, supporting aerospace Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and inspection technologies for commercial and defense aircraft programs, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, and B-1B. This role supports the development of NDT/NDE procedures, reference standards, engineering specifications, emerging inspection technologies, and qualification activities using methods including ultrasonics, eddy current, and radiography across the aircraft product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) procedures supporting airline customer maintenance inspections
- Design NDE reference standards to support nondestructive inspection procedures
- Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation to meet customer requirements
- Evaluate emerging NDT/NDE technologies for potential aerospace applications and business needs
- Support the development and qualification of new inspection tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
- Perform routine testing and audits to qualify suppliers against applicable requirements.
- Support corrective and preventive action implementation
- Apply basic analysis techniques to evaluate performance and identify causes of failures involving tools, materials, parts, and processes
- Use project management tools and practices to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research and qualification activities, work procedures, laboratories, and office environments
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by federal law
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field (Engineering, computer science, math, physics, or chemistry)
- General knowledge and/or experience with Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and Nondestructive Testing (NDT)
- Ability to apply basic analysis techniques to evaluate performance or determine causes of failures involving tools, materials, parts, or processes
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Ability to work on-site in Tukwila, WA on first shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing inspection procedures for commercial or military aircraft
- Experience with ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, radiographic testing, or related NDI systems
- Experience using CATIA, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software
- Aerospace or aviation engineering experience
- Knowledge of metallic and composite aerospace materials
- Experience supporting multiple technical projects across different programs or geographical locations
- Experience with NDE technology development, qualification, or aircraft lifecycle support
