Job summary

Ford Motor Company in the United States is seeking a Transformation Lead within MP&L for the Forward Model launch readiness program.

You'll evaluate supplier readiness, lead system transformation from CMMS/eDDL to SAP S/4HANA, collaborate with IT, suppliers, and internal teams, and perform risk analyses to ensure on-time, cost-competitive vehicle launches. This hybrid role requires engineering background and experience with SAP, data analytics, and supply chain leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 4+ years of automotive manufacturing experience or Master’s with 2+ years of automotive experience
• 2+ years of experience working with SAP (preferably S/4HANA) or participating in a large-scale functional system transformation/migration
• 2+ years in managing the complete supply chain lifecycle with forecasting, scheduling, and ensuring timely availability of materials based on the Bill of Materials
• 1+ years of experience with data analytics leveraging analytical tools like Power BI, SQL or Python for data driven storytelling

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier readiness and industrialization processes for engineered parts and ensure integration into new vehicle models
• Lead liaison between supplier readiness group and IT to drive system transformation (MMP/ASCENT)
• Identify operational gaps during migration and work with IT to ensure new tools support MP&L requirements
• Conduct Launch Readiness reviews/audits with suppliers for new model programs (Vehicle & Powertrain Operations NA) on-site or remote/online
• Document findings in the SUPER-G Ford Supplier readiness system
• Lead engineering/part pedigree evaluation for Ford Plant Capacity Uplifts & Shift additions
• Rate supplier readiness for each program and ensure 100% audits are completed 30 days prior to MP1
• Support suppliers in implementing Job1 engineering changes for quality and launch excellence
• Perform risk analysis and act on findings within Technical Teams and Forums
• Escalate and resolve supplier noncompliance with STA/Purchasing
• Provide engineering support, training, and education to distressed suppliers
• Root cause analysis in SUPER-G to improve delivery performance
• Collaborate with STA and Purchasing on distressed supplier performance
• Identify/implement part engineering/design changes for cost improvement during on-site reviews
• Address SUPER-G issues with IT and Global SMRT team
• Establish standards and expectations for assigned suppliers
• Travel to suppliers and plant locations; some trips may be multi-day
• Collaborate with Purchasing on Sourcing/Resourcing actions
• Collaborate with PD and purchasing to optimize manufacturing value stream for job #1

Job description

As a key member of the Ford MP&L Forward Model launch readiness team, you can add critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us develop suppliers manufacturing readiness for new program launch while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want. Beyond traditional readiness, you will serve as a Transformation Catalyst acting as the System Transformation Lead within MP&L. You will be the Strategic Liaison and "Voice of the Business" as we undergo a massive Digital Transformation, migrating from legacy environments (CMMS/eDDL) to our Next-Gen SAP S/4HANA ecosystem (MMP and ASCENT).

What you'll do...

• Serve as a core specialist responsible for evaluating supplier readiness and industrialization processes for engineered parts, ensuring successful integration into new vehicle models.

• Act as the lead liaison between the supplier readiness group and IT to facilitate the MP&L system transformation, ensuring the "voice of the business" is integrated into the rollout of MMP (replacing CMMS) and ASCENT (replacing eDDL).

• Identify potential operational gaps during the system migration and collaborate with IT workstreams to ensure new tools and processes support MP&L requirements without disrupting launch readiness.

• Conduct Launch Readiness reviews / audits with suppliers for new model programs (Vehicle & Powertrain Operations NA) on-site or remote on-line

• Clear documentation of findings & analysis in SUPER-G Ford Supplier readiness system

• Lead engineering/part pedigree evaluation of supplier parts for Ford Plant’s Capacity Uplifts & Shift additions collaborating with D&R’s and new model launch team.

• Rate supplier’s readiness for each program and ensure 100% audits are completed 30 days prior to MP1

• Provide support for suppliers to implement Job1 mandatory engineering changes on parts to drive best quality vehicles and deliver flawless launch.

• Perform risk analysis and act on findings within the Technical Teams and Forums for new, critical, or greenfield/brownfield suppliers

• Collaborate with STA / Purchasing to ensure supplier noncompliance issues pertaining to launch readiness are escalated on time & resolved

• Provide engineering support, training and education to distressed suppliers.

• Root cause analysis in SUPER-G to understand and work with suppliers to improve delivery performance

• Collaborate with STA and Purchasing on distressed suppliers’ performance improvement

• Identify/implement any part engineering/design changes for cost improvement during supplier on-site reviews.

• Address any SUPER-G-related issues and improvements to SUPER-G IT and Global SMRT team

• Establish work and process standards and expectations for the assigned suppliers

• Travel to suppliers & plant locations (in some cases travel may be for multiple days)

• Collaborate with Purchasing on Sourcing/Resourcing Actions

• Collaborate with PD and purchasing to optimize the best manufacturing value stream to deliver the best cost at job #1.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
