Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a strategic MP&L Transformation Lead to help scale supplier readiness for new vehicle programs. You will partner with IT and supplier teams to migrate to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring cost effectiveness and on-time delivery across the supply chain.

The role requires assembling cross-functional teams, conducting risk analyses, and driving continuous improvements while supporting a hybrid work model and occasional travel to supplier sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 4+ years automotive manufacturing experience or Master's with 2+ years
  • 2+ years SAP experience or participation in a large-scale functional system transformation/migration
  • 2+ years managing the complete supply chain lifecycle with forecasting and ensuring timely materials availability

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate supplier readiness and industrialization for engineered parts for new vehicle models.
  • Lead liaison between supplier readiness and IT to support MP&L system transformation (MMP/ASCENT).
  • Identify gaps during system migration and ensure tools/processes support MP&L requirements.
  • Conduct Launch Readiness reviews/audits with suppliers for new model programs, raising clear findings in SUPER-G.
  • Lead engineering/part pedigree evaluation for capacity uplifts and shift additions.
  • Rate supplier readiness and ensure 100% audits are completed 30 days prior to MP1.

Job description

As a key member of the Ford MP&L Forward Model launch readiness team, you can add critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us develop suppliers manufacturing readiness for new program launch while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want. Beyond traditional readiness, you will serve as a Transformation Catalyst acting as the System Transformation Lead within MP&L. You will be the Strategic Liaison and 'Voice of the Business' as we undergo a massive Digital Transformation, migrating from legacy environments (CMMS/eDDL) to our Next-Gen SAP S/4HANA ecosystem (MMP and ASCENT).

What you'll do...
  • Serve as a core specialist responsible for evaluating supplier readiness and industrialization processes for engineered parts, ensuring successful integration into new vehicle models.
  • Act as the lead liaison between the supplier readiness group and IT to facilitate the MP&L system transformation, ensuring the 'voice of the business' is integrated into the rollout of MMP (replacing CMMS) and ASCENT (replacing eDDL).
  • Identify potential operational gaps during the system migration and collaborate with IT workstreams to ensure new tools and processes support MP&L requirements without disrupting launch readiness.
  • Conduct Launch Readiness reviews / audits with suppliers for new model programs (Vehicle & Powertrain Operations NA) on-site or remote on-line
    • Clear documentation of findings & analysis in SUPER-G Ford Supplier readiness system
  • Lead engineering/part pedigree evaluation of supplier parts for Ford Plant’s Capacity Uplifts & Shift additions collaborating with D&R’s and new model launch team.
  • Rate supplier’s readiness for each program and ensure 100% audits are completed 30 days prior to MP1
  • Provide support for suppliers to implement Job1 mandatory engineering changes on parts to drive best quality vehicles and deliver flawless launch.
  • Perform risk analysis and act on findings within the Technical Teams and Forums for new, critical, or greenfield/brownfield suppliers
  • Collaborate with STA / Purchasing to ensure supplier noncompliance issues pertaining to launch readiness are escalated on time & resolved
  • Provide engineering support, training and education to distressed suppliers.
  • Root cause analysis in SUPER-G to understand and work with suppliers to improve delivery performance
  • Collaborate with STA and Purchasing on distressed suppliers’ performance improvement
  • Identify/implement any part engineering/design changes for cost improvement during supplier on-site reviews.
  • Address any SUPER-G-related issues and improvements to SUPER-G IT and Global SMRT team
  • Establish work and process standards and expectations for the assigned suppliers
  • Travel to suppliers & plant locations (in some cases travel may be for multiple days)
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on Sourcing/Resourcing Actions
  • Collaborate with PD and purchasing to optimize the best manufacturing value stream to deliver the best cost at job #1.
You’ll have...
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering with 4+ years of automotive manufacturing experience or Master's degree with 2+ years of automotive experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP (preferably S/4HANA) or participating in a large-scale functional system transformation/migration.
  • 2+ years in managing the complete supply chain lifecycle, with a proven track record in forecasting, scheduling, and ensuring the timely availability of materials based on the Bill of Materials.
  • 1+ years of experience with data analytics leveraging analytical tools like Power BI, SQL or Python for data driven story telling.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-162,120.
