Job summary

Utah State University in Logan, UT is seeking a Coordinator Service II (Moving) to transport furniture and equipment on campus and off campus, with scheduling from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and occasional nights, weekends, and holidays for events.

You will set up and relocate items for events, operate moving trucks and forklifts, train staff, manage records, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction while coordinating with campus partners.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or an associate degree or vocational training.
• Valid driver’s license to operate university vehicles and transport material.
• Ability to gain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and remove furniture, equipment, and related items for special events and classroom use as necessitated.
• Locate and relocate applicable office, lab and event equipment.
• Load and unload furniture and related materials onto and off trucks, ensuring padding and straps prevent damage.
• Operate forklifts, mechanical tailgates, and mechanical platforms; back a pickup truck and 20 ft trailer into tight spaces.
• Ensure budget expenditures are maintained within the authorized budget.
• Distribute goods to and from salvage, storage, surplus and central receiving.
• Operate mid-sized to large moving trucks for transporting materials.
• Hire and train full-time and multiple part-time staff.
• Maintain records of employees, equipment and maintenance activities.
• Schedule work assignments to meet deadlines and monitor inventory.
• Use various applications and devices to track workflow.
• Assist customers and resolve issues relating to products and services.
• Perform general maintenance, custodial work, trash and snow removal.
• Meet safety requirements and promote safety practices.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
