Job summary

Emergent Fund is hiring a Program Officer to manage grantmaking and movement-building initiatives. This remote role reports to the Co-Director of Movement Building and supports participatory grantmaking, data collection, and capacity-building across grantees.

The ideal candidate will be independent, well-organized, and deeply aligned with movement values, with 2–4 years in social justice work and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Commitment to Emergent Fund’s mission and values in movement work.
• Experience with participatory or trust-based philanthropy is preferred.
• 2-4 years of related movement work.
• Spanish or other language proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely is required.

Responsibilities

• Support Grantmaking & Movement Partner cycles and Advisory Council review.
• Vet grant applications and support Nomination’s Network recommendations.
• Coordinate communications with applicants and grantees.
• Ensure accessibility and data collection for reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership on storytelling and fundraising.
