Job summary

The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences focusing on Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. The candidate will provide evidence-based psychological care, conduct presurgical evaluations, and contribute to teaching and scholarly activities while collaborating

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in KS and MO.
• APA-approved clinical internship completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological assessment, treatment, psychoeducation, and triage for Parkinson's and movement disorders.
• Conduct presurgical evaluations for neurosurgical procedures like DBS.
• Deliver evidence-based CBT and behavioral interventions for chronic medical conditions.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, dietitians, and other care team members.
• Educate and mentor learners; participate in teaching and scholarly activities.
• Engage in departmental meetings, grand rounds, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Partner with KU and KU Health System in clinical and research endeavors.
