Job summary

The University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a Division Director for Movement Disorders, directing a growing division with a strong clinical base, neuromodulation program, and NIH-supported labs. The leader reports to the Chair of Neurology and will advance clinical excellence, innovative therapies, and academic research.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree; ABPN board-certified/board-eligible in Neurology.
• Fellowship training in Movement Disorders or equivalent advanced expertise; with excellence in diagnosis and management of PD, tremor, dystonia, etc.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota.
• Strong clinical expertise in movement disorders.
• Scholarly productivity in clinical, translational, or basic science.
• Experience leading or contributing to clinical research or trials; integration of research into care is preferred.
• Excellent communication to foster collaboration across neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, rehab, engineering, and allied teams.
• Leadership style with emotional intelligence, transparency, humility, and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Division of Movement Disorders within the Department of Neurology.
• Lead and advance clinical care, neuromodulation programs, and translational research.
• Foster collaborations across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Commit to education, mentorship, and development of trainees and faculty.
