Job summary

GPI Investment LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, painting, cleaning coordination, and general maintenance to ensure each unit is safe, clean, and move-in ready. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and appliance repairs.

You will inspect units, perform repairs, patch and paint, check for leaks and safety issues, and complete work

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of apartment maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vacant units and complete make-ready checklist.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs.
• Replace light fixtures, outlets, switches, blinds, and hardware as needed.
• Repair or replace appliances when necessary.
• Patch, texture, and paint walls.
• Check for leaks, safety hazards, and code compliance issues.
• Complete all work orders assigned in a timely manner.
• Report major maintenance issues to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
