Job summary

STIO in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Mountain Studio Retail Lead to join our store team during the winter season. This full‑time hourly role involves opening/closing duties, training new staff, and leading in delivering exceptional customer service while promoting brand storytelling and product knowledge.

You will maintain visual merchandising standards, assist with inventory receiving, and ensure an organized store and back stock.

YOUR ROLE

As a Stio Mountain Studio™ Retail Lead, you are part of our store team providing exceptional customer service each day. As a keyholder in a full‑time hourly role, you share responsibility for opening and closing duties, support new employee shift training, and provide leadership in finding solutions for customers. You are expected to deliver an exceptional level of customer service, which includes but is not limited to knowledge of our brand story and products, customer engagement, and selling. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining visual merchandising standards, supporting inventory receiving and stocking processes, and helping maintain an organized store and back stock.

The Mountain Studio Retail Lead reports to the Mountain Studio Manager.

This role is performed in our Mountain Studio retail location. The Mountain Studio Retail Lead must live within a reasonable commute of our Bend, OR Mountain Studio.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience
• Team‑oriented and able to maintain a positive attitude
• Multitask while prioritizing the customer experience
• Coordinate same‑day response needs to scheduling coverage
• Provide feedback and guidance with the team to align with store, service, and role expectations
• Oversee and support all opening and closing duties in the absence of Managers
• Utilize point of sale (POS) systems to research products and complete transactions

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required
• Flexibility to work opening, closing, weekend, holiday season shifts
• Self‑starter proactive with tackling daily tasks, handling customer interactions, and communicating with your managers on a daily basis
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive space for every person who enters the Mountain Studio
• Computer proficiency and POS experience, Microsoft Office Suite skills preferred
• Email and phone communication skills required
• High School Diploma or GED preferred

THE FINE PRINT

• This role is for the winter season, with an anticipated start in October 2026 and an anticipated end around February 2027. Exact start and end dates will be discussed during the hiring process based on individual and business needs. There is potential for this role to extend beyond the anticipated end date depending on business needs at that time.
• Hourly Rate: $18-$21 DOE
• Seasonal, full‑time (30-40 weekly hours), hourly, non‑exempt
