Position Overview:
As a Motorcycle Service & Operations Specialist, you will handle responsibilities of a Porter—organizing, cleaning, and preparing motorcycles for service—and a Service Advisor—assessing customer needs, providing estimates, and ensuring quality service. This versatile role requires moving between technical tasks and customer service, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves motorcycles and people.
Key Responsibilities:
Porter Duties:
- Safely move motorcycles within the dealership and service area, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area and showroom, including washing bikes and cleaning bays.
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring parts and accessories are organized and stocked.
- Help technicians with motorcycle prep and delivery, supporting smooth workflow.
- Assist in motorcycle delivery and pickup, ensuring safety and timeliness.
Service Advisor Duties:
- Greet riders promptly and assist with service inquiries in a professional manner.
- Understand and document customer service needs, recommending repairs and maintenance.
- Provide accurate estimates and explain work required to riders.
- Discuss financing options, warranties, and upgrades to help customers make informed decisions.
- Schedule appointments and communicate with technicians and riders.
- Update riders on service progress and follow up post-service for satisfaction.
- Manage service orders from start to finish, tracking progress and finalizing details.
- Identify upsell opportunities for maintenance, upgrades, or accessories.
- Process payments and ensure proper documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a service department, automotive, or powersports industry preferred.
- Passion for motorcycles and basic knowledge of features and types (training provided).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Comfortable with physical tasks and customer interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a desire to exceed goals.
- Proficient with computer systems and POS software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Flexibility to perform porter and service advisor duties as needed.
A Day in the Life:
- Morning: Check in with the team, review schedules, prepare motorcycles, greet riders, and organize the area.
- Midday: Handle service inquiries, provide estimates, and follow up on progress.
- Afternoon: Assist with sales, coordinate test rides, and support closing activities.
