The Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) is hiring vehicle operators to transport people, materials, and equipment on State property. Duties include route mapping, cargo handling, and maintaining logs. Positions are filled on an “as needed” basis with no guaranteed schedule.
Applicants must hold a New York State driver’s license valid for the vehicle type and may be required to obtain a CDL; comprehensive background checks apply, including SEL, CBC, and SCR screenings.
May drive a variety of motor vehicles both on and off State property to transport people, material, and equipment as required, and to plow snow from roadways and parking lots.
Tend to the routine maintenance of vehicles operated to ensure that cargo is moved as required.
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
May operate and maintain motorized equipment in support of maintenance, grounds or building trades crews. All hourly positions with the NYS Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS) are utilized on an “as needed” basis, and there is no guarantee of work hours or a set schedule. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a New York State Driver’s License appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Candidates may be required to possess a CDL Class A, B, C, or General Class D license.
