Job summary

Leo Tech, LLC is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to maintain the vehicle and weapon systems fleets for the Silver Flag Exercise site. You will diagnose, repair, and service fleet equipment while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements include a minimum of three years of fleet maintenance experience, ASE Certification, a Class A CDL, and a valid driver's license. Equal opportunity employer; contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management.
  • Must pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC).
  • Hold an ASE Certification and a Class A CDL.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to operate in active duty environments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify mechanical problems using diagnostics and inspections.
  • Repair or replace engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, tune-ups.
  • Explain repairs, provide estimates, and advise on maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections to meet state requirements.
  • Maintain detailed repair records and vehicle history.
  • Train and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices.

JOB TITLE:

MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform all management and administrative functions for maintaining the special/general purpose vehicle fleet, weapon systems fleet, organizational equipment, shop equipment, and vehicle maintenance buildings. Provide services dedicated to providing a safe and serviceable vehicle fleet that is critical to the success of the Silver Flag Exercise training site. Be fully trained, professional, and customer-service oriented. Ensure quality work performance in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use computerized diagnostic tools and visual inspections to identify mechanical problems in vehicles. This includes checking engine performance, electrical systems, and other critical components
  • Once issues are diagnosed, mechanics repair or replace faulty parts and systems. This can involve working on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition
  • Communicate with customers to explain repairs needed, provide estimates, and advise on maintenance procedures. This includes keeping customers informed about new technologies and repair techniques
  • Perform safety inspections mandated by state regulations to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and services performed, which is essential for tracking vehicle history and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Train and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices, sharing knowledge and skills to enhance the overall competency of the team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
  • Have a current ASE Certification
  • Have a valid Driver's License
  • Have a Class A Commercial Driver's License
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma
EXPERIENCE:
  • Have three years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • US Air Force Experience in Vehicle Fleet Management at USAF Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) or Redhorse Training Location
