Job summary

Leo Tech LLC is seeking a Heavy Mechanic to manage the maintenance of its vehicle and equipment fleets supporting critical training and operations. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure safety and serviceability of the fleet.

The ideal candidate has three years of heavy mechanic experience in fleet environments, ASE certification, and a Class A CDL. The role is contingent on contract award and will require strict adherence to safety standards and

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience as a Heavy Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management.
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC).
  • Current ASE Certification is required.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Examine machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, excavators, and loaders to detect faults using visual checks, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication, and hydraulic system checks.
  • Perform both minor and major repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and undercarriage parts; test machinery after repairs.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate repairs and adjustments.
  • Collaborate with operators and management to understand equipment issues, maintain repair schedules and ensure safety compliance.
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and parts used; report issues to supervisors.
  • Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, safe workspace.

We are currently seeking the following position
CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD
HEAVY MECHANIC
JOB PURPOSE:

Perform all management and administrative functions for maintaining the special/general purpose vehicle fleet, weapon systems fleet, organizational equipment, shop equipment, and vehicle maintenance buildings. Provide services dedicated to providing a safe and serviceable vehicle fleet that is critical to the success of the Silver Flag Exercise training site. Be fully trained, professional, and customer-service oriented. Ensure quality work performance in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Examine machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, excavators, and loaders to detect faults or malfunctions using visual checks, technical manuals, and computerized diagnostic tools
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication, and hydraulic system checks to prevent breakdowns
  • Perform both minor and major repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and undercarriage parts. This includes dismantling faulty parts, replacing or repairing components, and testing machinery after repairs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate repairs and adjustments
  • Work with operators, other mechanics, and management to understand equipment issues, maintain repair schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and parts used, and report issues to supervisors or project managers
  • Follow safety protocols, wear proper personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and safe workspace
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have three years of experience as a Heavy Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
  • Have a current ASE Certification
  • Have a valid Driver's License
  • Have a Class A Commercial Driver's License
EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma
EXPERIENCE:
  • Have three years of experience as a Heavy Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • US Air Force Experience in Vehicle Fleet Management at USAF Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) or Redhorse Training Location
