Job summary

Precision Zone, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electric Motor Repair Supervisor to lead our Wheeling, IL motor repair team. This hands-on leadership role includes training technicians, setting performance standards, and organizing workload to meet customer demand and turnaround targets.

You will guide evaluations and complex repairs, ensure QA, monitor productivity, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience supervising electric motor repair or mechanical repair service preferred.
• Hands‑on knowledge of electric motor repair including AC/DC servo, spindle, and general purpose motors.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor Motor Repair Technicians (Levels I–III) and trainees across product series.
• Set goals and performance standards for technician levels and help develop a performance-based pay structure.
• Establish clear communication/reporting structures with technicians and lead department meetings.
• Provide ongoing product knowledge training, including on-site sessions.
• Assign and manage repair workload with Lead Technician to meet demand.
• Oversee priority repairs, parts disposition, and related procedures.
• Conduct evaluations and daily inspections to ensure repaired units are properly placed.
• Provide technical guidance on evaluations, diagnostics, and complex repairs and testing.
• Decide whether units are cost-effective to repair or scrap based on parts and labor.
• Develop and implement QA procedures to reduce warranty returns and improve profitability.
• Monitor productivity/quality reports and adjust to meet standards.
• Ensure complete records in Repair Tracker and company software.
• Lead weekly safety meetings and uphold Vigilant Safety Practices.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and enforce Clean Workplace Standards.
• Develop department policies aligned with company goals and mission.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and solicit technician improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper inspection and policy adherence.
