FLANDERS is seeking a Motor Assembly Technician I in Longview, TX to assist with basic to moderately complex electromechanical motor assembly. You will read job cards, perform subassembly, and support final motor assembly while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and hands-on mechanical or electrical experience; trade schooling can substitute. Expect teamwork, documentation accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic workshop

The Longview, TX team is looking to add a Motor Assembly Technician I. This position assists with the assembly of basic to moderately complex electromechanical motors and equipment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.

What You Will Do:
Preparation
  • Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations and limitations, descriptions of problems, and expected serviceability.
  • Perform subassembly duties, including assembling components of motors and other electromechanical equipment.
Testing
  • Perform basic testing of electromechanical equipment and document results accurately.
  • Operate testing equipment including Megger, Surge Tester, Volt-Ohm Meter, Growler, Amp Meters, and Feeler Gauges as needed.
Clean and Inspect
  • Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies using approved methods, including parts washers and steamers.
  • Thoroughly inspect parts during and after the cleaning process.
Parts Flow Process
  • Store and retrieve parts accurately according to job status and workflow requirements.
Final Assembly
  • Assist Level II and Level III Technicians with final motor assembly according to job-specific instructions.
  • Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects as required to perform assigned duties.
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation throughout the assembly process, including test sheets and Quality Control Checklists.
  • Record information accurately and in a timely manner.

What You Need:
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical equipment preferred.
  • Two years of trade school or technical school education may be substituted for related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand, perform, and retain job-related training, operational procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making within established company standards.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy components and equipment.
