Job summary

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Motion Lab Engineer to manage all technical aspects of our motion analysis laboratory, including hardware/software and data operations for clinical and research patients.

You will supervise data collection and processing, develop custom software, and maintain databases to support gait and sports evaluations using marker-based and marker-less systems. A BS in engineering and knowledge of coding are required; Motion Analysis Lab experience is preferred.

Hybrid schedule with 3-4 days onsite required.**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:**The Motion Lab Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of clinical and research operations performed by the motion analysis laboratory. Independently manages all hardware and software utilized by the motion analysis laboratory including the development of custom software. Directly supervises all data collection and data processing on clinical and research patients. Manages all clinical and research databases. Develops and manages the quality assurance programs for all motion lab equipment. Participates in the development of research ideas and proposals, data collection and analysis and presentation of results. Maintains all equipment and documentation to meet JCAHO and CMLA, Inc. accreditation requirements.The Motion Lab is responsible for completing three-dimensional gait and sports evaluations to support clinical care and research in the areas of cerebral palsy, Charcot-Marie Tooth, club foot, spina bifida and return to sports and performance. Our lab utilizes a combination of Marker-based and Marker-less assessments and experience integrating multiple technologies such as force plates, electromyography, and instrumented treadmills is preferred.**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:**• Required: 2+ years’ experience in computer programming.• Preferred: Experience in Motion Analysis Laboratory.**Education/Licensure/Certification:**• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of engineering with a B.S. degree in electrical, mechanical, biomedical, or other related types of engineering, or equivalent experience with motion analysis technology.• Preferred: Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, biomedical, or other related types of engineering. Knowledge of coding is needed in multiple languages and familiarization with Python, Visual3D, Vicon are preferred.### Pay Scale Information**$71,760.00-$82,784.00**CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
