Job summary

Mission Hospital in North Carolina is seeking a Mother Baby Registered Nurse to lead nursing care in the Mother Baby unit, guiding and documenting care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with the care team to ensure patient and family education and outcomes.

You will oversee patient care delivery, adjust plans based on acuity, and participate in ongoing education for staff and families. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• RN: Registered Nurse licensure is required.
• BLS is required or equivalent certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of patient care for a group of patients based on acuity and staff availability.
• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust care as needed.
• Formulate and update care plans based on assessments and identified needs.
• Plan and monitor care delivery using critical thinking and patient progress.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes.
• Document patient data, responses and progress, and report to appropriate staff.
• Provide education for patients, families, and staff as needed.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mother Baby unit, you will provide leadership which facilities the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

• You will oversee the delivery of patient care for a group of patients and directs patient care based on patient acuity and staff availability.
• You will provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care processes indicated to adhere to legal, ethical and competency level of staff.
• You will formulate plan of care based on patient assessment and identified needs.
• You will plan, anticipate, prioritize and monitor delivery of care through critical reasoning based on patients need, response and progress.
• You will collaborate and consult with patients, colleagues and interdisciplinary team members to achieve desired outcomes.
• You will document and report data, patient response and progress.
• You will provide education for self, staff, colleagues, patients and/or families.

What qualifications you will need:

• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or Bachelors Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree, or Associate Degree must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
