Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, seeks a Mother Baby Registered Nurse to lead nursing care, oversee a patient group, and support education for patients and families in a collaborative, high-quality unit.

You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, while coordinating with an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Qualifications

• RN licensed with current active NC licensure or compact license.
• Bachelor's, Associate, or higher degree required or acceptable work experience in lieu of degree.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS (or BCLS Instructor) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of patient care for a group of patients based on acuity and staff availability.
• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care accordingly.
• Develop and update plan of care based on assessment and needs.
• Coordinate delivery of care with interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Document and report patient data, responses and progress.
• Educate patients, families and staff as needed.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mother Baby unit, you will provide leadership which facilities the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. You will utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

• You will oversee the delivery of patient care for a group of patients and directs patient care based on patient acuity and staff availability.
• You will provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care processes indicated to adhere to legal, ethical and competency level of staff.
• You will formulate plan of care based on patient assessment and identified needs.
• You will plan, anticipate, prioritize and monitor delivery of care through critical reasoning based on patients need, response and progress.
• You will collaborate and consult with patients, colleagues and interdisciplinary team members to achieve desired outcomes.
• You will document and report data, patient response and progress.
• You will provide education for self, staff, colleagues, patients and/or families.

What qualifications you will need:

• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or Bachelors Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree, or Associate Degree must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
