Job summary

Florida Tile is seeking a production associate to support mosaic sheet assembly and packing on the Lawrenceburg, KY line. You will collect cut pieces, align them on template plates, and prepare sheets for gluing while ensuring quality and correct shade matching.

Training is provided; you will rotate across stations, monitor inventory of materials, and maintain safety standards. The role emphasizes manual dexterity, reliability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• No mechanical maintenance experience required; ability to learn the assigned production tasks through on the job training.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail for repetitive placement and packing tasks.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, count pieces and sheets accurately, and recognize visible defects and shade differences.
• Ability to work cooperatively, maintain the required production pace, and rotate between assigned stations.
• Ability to coordinate with other operators and complete assigned tasks reliably.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds on regular basis
• Warehouse experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform and understand basic written procedures.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect mosaic pieces after cutting and drying and transfer them to the assembly station without damaging edges.
• Arrange mosaic pieces on template plates according to the specified pattern, orientation, spacing, product, and shade.
• Check for chipped, broken, missing, or incorrectly positioned pieces and correct the assembly before it enters the gluing machine.
• Feed prepared template plates to the gluing machine according to the established operating sequence.
• Rotate with end of line operators to collect finished mosaic sheets, check visible quality and sheet completeness, and manually place sheets into cartons.
• Use the required carton, sheet count, protective materials, and product identification; report or segregate defective sheets according to department procedures.
• Support general production activities and rotate through assigned line stations, including finished sheet collection and manual packing, after appropriate training.
• Keep the gluing machine supplied with the specified adhesive and mosaic mesh; replenish materials and perform routine cleaning according to operating instructions.
• Check product identity and visible quality, keep different products and shades separated, and report defects or equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas, remove empty cartons and scrap, and follow required PPE and safe work procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
