Job summary

Florida Tile, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Handler in Dallas, Texas. The individual will be responsible for processing customer orders, maintaining inventory, and assisting branch operations. Key tasks include accurately preparing orders, verifying shipments, and operating a forklift. A strong candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience and excellent communication skills.

SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for all functions of inventory handling and will process customer orders received either in person, via telephone, fax or internet. This position will assist the Branch Manager / Branch Operations Manager, and other branch associates as needed. Responsibilities will also include maintenance of inventory, receipt, shipment of goods, telephone encounters and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately prepare orders by pulling material from stock.
• Participates in the shipping of company goods to various customers.
• Verifies accuracy of shipments.
• Processes paperwork and signatures of shipments.
• Operates forklift and performs assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Pulls orders via pick ticket and handles pick ticket process.
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and preparing for transport.
• Participates in physical inventory for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying gains/losses.
• Cleans warehouse for the purpose of a safe and sanitary workplace.
• Accurately performs order entry process, including product, quantity and price verification.
• Confirms orders placed by customers via phone, fax or internet.
• Performs stock and price checks for customers and other branches.
• Provides freight/shipment information (cost, tracking etc.) to customers and branches in a timely and accurate manner.
• Applies freight and handling expenses to orders to effectively invoice customers for related expenses.
• Regularly follows up with customers as to the status of their order(s).
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least two years of inventory handling and experience.
• Ability to perform and understand basic math and written procedures.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and schedules with little supervision.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Warehouse experience is a plus.
• Flooring or tile industry experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
