Job summary

Fidelity Memorial Group is seeking a dedicated Mortuary Transport Specialist to join our partner funeral home in Laurel, Virginia. You will be responsible for the respectful care, removal, and transport of the deceased from the place of passing to the appropriate facility.

This hands-on role requires physical fitness, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the ability to work a rotating schedule including nights or on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong professional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist or complete the removal of the deceased from hospitals, coroner offices, convalescent homes, and residences.
• Verify the deceased and review required documentation.
• Lift 100+ pounds safely with a partner.
• Provide excellent customer service to families.
• Complete paperwork as assigned by the funeral home for removal of the deceased.
• Be available for night shift and/or on call; support funeral directors as needed.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with insurance approvals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by location manager.

We are currently seeking full-time and part-time Mortuary Transport Specialist to join our esteemed partner funeral home in Laurel, Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the respectful care, removal, and transport of the deceased from the place of passing to the appropriate facility.

This is a hands-on position that offers the opportunity to work closely with our dedicated team, providing essential services during times of need. If you are compassionate, physically fit, and ready to serve with dignity.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing or assisting in removal of descendants from hospitals, coroner offices, convalescent homes and residences.
• Performs verification of the deceased and reviews required documentation.
• Ability to lift 100+ pounds safely.
• Excellent customer service skills and respect towards families.
• Ability to properly fill out paperwork as assigned by the funeral home for removal of the deceased.
• Willingness and ability to work night shift and/or be on call.
• Assist funeral directors as needed.
• Clean Driving record/to be approved by Insurance Company
• Other duties as assigned by the location manager

• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule: 5 days on followed by 2 days off
• Ability to drive safely in various traffic and weather conditions
