Job summary

AD Mortgage in Troy, MI seeks a Mortgage Underwriting Trainer to design, implement, and manage training programs for our underwriting team. You will leverage proven instructional design methodologies to ensure underwriters assess mortgage applications accurately and in compliance with regulations.

The role requires 3+ years in mortgage underwriting and 2+ years in training/ instructional design, with strong facilitation and LMS capabilities. Office-based role with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance, business, education, or related field (preferred).
  • Certifications in instructional design or L&D (e.g., CPTD, ATD) are a plus.
  • 3+ years mortgage underwriting experience (NQM, FHA, VA, conventional).
  • 2+ years in learning and development, instructional design, or corporate training.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage mortgage underwriting training programs.
  • Apply ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, and other frameworks.
  • Develop assessments to measure learner progress and retention.
  • Coordinate with underwriting teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize LMS and e-learning tools to deliver training.
  • Monitor learner progress using analytics/AI tools.
  • Demonstrate strong facilitation and presentation skills.
