Job summary

Keesler Federal Credit Union is seeking an Mortgage Loan Underwriter III in Gulfport. The role requires a minimum of 4 years of current mortgage underwriting experience, including 2 years government underwriting, and DE/SAR approval. You will assess guideline compliance and ensure accurate loan documentation.

Responsibilities include underwriting all mortgage loan types, interpreting complex guidelines, mentoring junior underwriters, and maintaining regulatory and internal policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of current mortgage underwriting experience with 2 years government underwriting.
• DE and SAR approval required.
• Expert knowledge with FHA/VA/USDA guidelines and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite all mortgage loan types, including government loans.
• Analyze loan files for guideline compliance with Keesler Federal, GSE, and investor rules.
• Explain credit, capacity, capital, collateral, and character to meet requirements.
• Maintain timely turn times and support Loan Processors and Originators.
• Ensure compliance with federal mortgage regulations and internal policies.
