Job summary

Goldenwest Credit Union in Utah and Idaho invites applications for a Mortgage Underwriter. You will review, evaluate, and decision mortgage loans, with focus on FHA, VA, and Rural Housing programs, ensuring compliance with credit union and agency standards.

We seek candidates with a two-year college degree or relevant certification and at least 5+ years of direct mortgage underwriting experience, who communicate clearly and maintain professional relationships with members and staff.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our Mortgage Underwriters eagerly assist mortgage lending by reviewing, evaluating, and decisioning mortgage loans.

Location & Schedule Availability

• 5151 S 400 E, Washington Terrace, UT 84405
• Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Cultivate and effectively manage long-term, trusting relationships.
• Evaluate mortgage loan information to determine if loans meet credit union and agency standards.
• Decision loans based on credit union guidelines and policies.
• Communicate status of loans to mortgage loan officer and processor.
• Comply with all regulations as required by law
• Actively participate in continuing education related to credit union career development.

Experience, Education & Certification

• A two-year college degree, or completion of specialized certification or licensing
• 5+ years of prior direct mortgage underwriting experience
• Delegated with FHA, VA and Rural Housing
