Job summary

Salal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Servicing Specialist to ensure accurate servicing of our real estate loan portfolio and to deliver exceptional support to members, partners, and teams. You will handle escrow administration, reporting, and investor coordination in a hybrid Seattle-based role.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mortgage servicing activities: payment processing, account reconciliation, loan recasts, ARM adjustments, payoff quotes, loan verifications, reconveyances, and documentation maintenance.
• Administer mortgage escrow accounts: escrow analysis, tax/insurance tracking, premium payments, and flood/hazard insurance compliance.
• Complete month-end servicing tasks: reporting, remitting, reconciling, and balancing portfolio activity.
• Support secondary market operations: monitor commitments, deliver loans to investors, extend rate locks as needed.
• Maintain accurate servicing records, process correspondence, generate notices/disclosures, and assist members with questions.

Job description

As a Mortgage Servicing Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate servicing of Salal Credit Union's real estate loan portfolio while delivering exceptional support to members, business partners, and internal teams. This position combines mortgage servicing expertise, problem-solving, and member service to help ensure loans are serviced accurately, timely, and in compliance with regulatory and investor requirements.

You'll work closely with the Mortgage Servicing team to manage escrow administration, loan servicing functions, investor reporting, secondary market activities, and member inquiries. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Location & Schedule:

This is a hybrid position - team members are expected to work onsite 2-3 days per week to support operational functions. During the training period, increased onsite attendance will be required. The regular schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.

What you'll do:

• Perform mortgage servicing activities such as payment processing, account reconciliation, loan recasts, ARM adjustments, payoff quotes, loan verifications, reconveyances, and documentation maintenance.
• Administer mortgage escrow accounts, including escrow analysis, property tax and insurance tracking, premium payments, and compliance with flood and hazard insurance requirements.
• Complete month-end servicing functions, including reporting, remitting, reconciling, and balancing mortgage portfolio activity.
• Support secondary market operations by monitoring commitments, delivering loans to investors, extending rate locks when necessary.
• Maintain accurate loan servicing records, process incoming servicing correspondence, generate required notices and disclosures, and assist members with questions regarding their mortgage accounts.

What you'll bring:

• At least one year of mortgage industry experience required.
• Strong customer service experience with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone, in writing, and in person.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize work effectively, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research and resolve loan servicing issues.

What we offer:

• Competitive salary range for this role is $22.25-$31.15 per hour. This represents the entire base salary range for this position. Most candidates can expect a starting offer between $24.90-$27.60 per hour depending on experience.
