Job summary

First American is hiring for a risk-focused role in North Carolina. You will analyze processes, design risk assessments, and partner with leadership to mitigate regulatory and operational risks.

This role requires a strong foundation in financial services risk controls and excellent communication skills. You will collaborate across departments to identify risk, develop scoped assessments, and implement remediation plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
• 4-7 years of experience in financial services, preferably mortgage servicing.
• Working knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls.
• Ability to plan, organize and execute risk mitigation initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to emergent problems.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, defines and documents detailed process workflows through user interviews and workshops.
• Designs and executes risk assessments.
• Creates a clear understanding of core accountabilities and focuses on top business priorities.
• Organizes research for specialized risk assessment scopes.
• Collaborates with management to optimize risk assessment and scope development.
• Identifies potential business risks and regulatory process deficiencies.
• Gathers and presents data with risk mitigation and improvement solutions.
• Makes recommendations for additional controls and corrective actions.
• Prepares and presents risk assessment reports and trends to management.
• Gathers information and escalates issues to stakeholders.
• Establishes a network of subject matter experts and stakeholders.
