Role
The Mortgage Production and Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the origination and closing units of the mortgage department and ensuring effective quality control.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for staff meetings and establishing objectives and goals.
- Supervise origination and closing positions of the mortgage loan department; provide input into and implement initiatives, benchmarks, and metrics for standards of performance.
- Oversee quality control and ensure effective processes are in place.
- Act as a key member of the mortgage department, representing and acting as the business knowledge expert in all matters pertaining to mortgage related.
- Work closely with department leadership on issues including training and implementation of operational excellence initiatives.
- Responsible for managing the productivity and performance of areas of responsibility.
- Supervise, manage and mentor staff in these areas.
- Ensure the workflows are effective, efficient and deliver a quality loan product.
- Develop, train and implement procedures for staff.
- Review, analyze and modify operational systems and procedures relating to mortgage lending functions.
- Respond to escalated member, realtor or third‑party issues.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all regulations, FHA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA and HVCC appraisal requirements.
Hours
- Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
- Some weekends and holidays
- Remote work is available after 30 days (Hybrid).
Experience
- 5-8 years of similar or related experience in the mortgage industry, preferably in mortgage operations.
- Strong origination experience required.

- Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills with some technical troubleshooting ability.
- Flexible with ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Strong operations background in the mortgage/title industry.
- Experience maintaining timelines and schedules.
- Excellent documentation, organizational and analytical skills. Sound and consistent judgment and decision‑making abilities are required.
