Job summary

Farmers State Bank in Tiffin, IA is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to provide full retail banking services focused on personal financing. You will originate and close mortgage loans for in-house and secondary markets and work with realtors and builders to grow loan referrals.

The role requires 2+ years of mortgage lending, NMLS registration, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree desired and/or applicable work experience.
• 2+ years originating mortgage loans.
• Registered or meets the requirements to be registered with the NMLS.
• Compliance with bank policies and federal and state laws/regulations.
• Familiar with FHA/USDA/VA/conventional loan programs.

Responsibilities

• Open and close time and demand deposit accounts, including CDs, checking and savings products.
• Cross sell and/or refer bank products based on customer need.
• Solicits and originates mortgage loans; interviews applicants and analyzes financial status.
• Calls on existing and prospective customers, realtors and builders to establish loan referral relationships.
• Receive and process teller transactions accurately and timely; balance daily cash line limits.
• Provide outstanding customer service for all types of customer inquiries and transactions.
