Qualifications

Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Mortgage Loan Shipper prepares and delivers mortgage loan files to investors both electronically and by certified mail. This position coordinate with and provide back-up to other Mortgage Loan Services associates. The Mortgage Loan Shipper prepares and uploads or ships loan packages according to investor guidelines to ensure timely loan purchases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ship FHA, VA, Conventional, Rural Development and various state Bond loans to investors. This duty is performed daily, about 70% of the time.
2. Prepare daily reports for manager to monitor various stages of the shipping process. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
3. Work directly with the Mortgage Loan Officer and closers to ensure the utmost in customer service. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
4. Refer customers to bank personnel as needed. This duty is performed daily, about 2% of the time.
5. Perform research on bank systems. This duty is performed daily, about 4% of the time.
6. Perform daily duties on all mortgage systems. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
7. Comply with all legal and regulatory guidelines related to the mortgage industry. This duty is performed annually, about 2% of the time.
8. Identify cross sell opportunities. This duty is performed daily, about 1% of the time.
9. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed annually, about 1% of the time.
10. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc , plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
