Job summary

Lake Area Mortgage, a division of Royal Credit Union, seeks a Mortgage Loan Production Assistant to support loan origination and processing of residential mortgages. You’ll prepare packages and docs and ensure compliance with guidelines; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year of related experience in a financial institution or similar role preferred.

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about supporting mortgage lending and Member service? Become a Mortgage Loan Production Assistant at Lake Area Mortgage, a division of Royal Credit Union! In this role, you’ll assist Lake Area Mortgage Loan Officers in the origination and processing of residential mortgage loans, prepare loan application packages, and deliver exceptional service to Members and partners. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred to support our diverse member base.

What You’ll Do:

Responsible for assisting assigned Lake Area Mortgage Loan Officer in the origination of residential mortgage loans. Prepares loan application packages and necessary documentation as determined by the Lake Area Mortgage Loan Officer. Convey policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and secondary investor guidelines. Meet Mortgage Loan scheduling and documentation requirements, and production expectations as determined by the Lake Area Mortgage Sales Supervisor.

What’s Needed For This Position:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One (1) year of related experience working in a financial institution or other related sales/customer service position
• Must be bondable upon hire
• Valid Driver’s License and insured vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Mortgage Lending & Processing: Working knowledge of financial services, mortgage origination, and processing, including understanding loan programs, guidelines, and Downpayment Assistance Programs.
• Customer Service & Communication: Strong sense of Member service, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to build professional relationships with Members, Realtors, and building professionals.
• Organization & Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to coordinate multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage a high-volume workload.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions regarding complex daily work, resolve recurring problems, and ensure compliance with policies.
• Technical Proficiency & Adaptability: Proficient in using computers and various software packages; able to learn new technologies and adapt to changing processes and priorities.

We’d Love To See:

• Experience working in Mortgage Origination or Processing
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) communication skills, including interpreter

Work Schedule:

• Full-Time, working approximately 40 hours per week. Hours and shifts vary between 8am-6pm Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed.

Training:

• Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
• Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal’s culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
