Job summary

Guardian Credit Union in West Allis, WI is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to handle in-house and secondary loan processing from application through closing. You will work with the Loan Officer and Underwriting to collect information, run credit checks, and prepare files for closing.

The role requires 3 years of Real Estate/Mortgage Lending experience (1 year in secondary market processing), strong knowledge of mortgage lending rules, and proficiency in Excel and Word.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Real Estate Lending and Mortgage Lending, with no less than 1 year in secondary market processing.

Responsibilities

• Process in-house and secondary mortgage loans from application through closing.
• Enter mortgage loan data into the Loan Origination System and run credit reports.
• Collaborate with Loan Officer and Underwriting to prepare files for closing.
• Handle clerical tasks and file organization for new loan files.
• Submit files to PMI if applicable and communicate conditions to involved parties.
• Coordinate verifications with employers and obtain required documents.
• Ensure deadlines are met for information submissions, underwriting decisions, and closings.
• Keep staff informed of loan progress and escalate issues.
