Job summary

Sunward in Reston, VA is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor to ensure loans are processed, documented, and ready for underwriting in a timely, accurate manner. You will verify applications in LOS, coordinate with members and third-party vendors, and satisfy conditions to support a smooth loan closing.

Qualifications

• Minimum one-year direct experience with real estate loans.
• Associate’s degree or successful completion of a specialized course or study in real estate or related field desired.
• Successfully completed online Credit Union courses that include, but not limited to: escrow accounts, HMDA, flood, TIL-Reg Z, and loan applications (internal candidates)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and able to learn third-party software programs.

• Review and analyze mortgage loan documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, lien position and vesting for the benefit of the member and minimize risk to the Credit Union.
• Verify loan application in mortgage loan origination system (LOS), to include credit, income, assets, etc. for accuracy, completeness, and to ensure compliance with SLFCU guidelines, secondary market guidelines, and federal and state regulations. Follow up with members for additional information and documentation as required.
• Work with third-party vendors to submit orders as well as to review and resolve issues to minimize risk to the Credit Union.
• Satisfy all outstanding loan conditions.
• Exceed members’ expectations through efficient, proactive, and accurate service to ensure superior member service via a variety of delivery channels.
• Provide a superior member experience by: Actively listening to and assessing the needs of the member; Identifying and recommending solutions; Referring members to the appropriate person or department.
• Answer phone calls regarding mortgage questions accurately and professionally.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job Summary:

Ensures all mortgage loans are processed and ready for underwriting in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Ensures that all loan application and processing requirements meet all SLFCU guidelines, secondary market guidelines, and federal and state regulations to perfect the Credit Union’s lien position. Compile and verify loan documentation to support member's loan application. Ensures accuracy of application in Loan Origination System. Completes any outstanding conditions and confirms loan is ready for Closing.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum one-year direct experience with real estate loans.
• Associate’s degree or successful completion of a specialized course or study in real estate or related field desired.

Physical Requirement:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times.
